ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior Cybersecurity Threat Hunter to join our team in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area . The ideal candidate will be adept at identifying, analyzing, and mitigating advanced cyber threats. In this role, you will respond to crisis or urgent situations to mitigate immediate and potential threats. Approaches may include using information and threat intelligence focused on incidents to identify undiscovered attacks. You will investigate and analyze all relevant response activities. This role is crucial in enhancing the cybersecurity posture of DHS by proactively seeking out and neutralizing cyber threats before they impact our systems. The Threat Hunter may respond to urgent situations, collaborate with internal and external teams, and improve the security posture of DHS enterprise. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate, analyze, and remediate threats Identify and assess capabilities of cyber criminals or foreign entities; design procedures to safeguard data and systems Provide forensic support, evidence seizure, analysis, and data recovery Monitor security devices for patterns and anomalies from logs (DNS, DHCP, AD, SE logs) Conduct malware analysis, proactively search for threats, and prepare detailed reports Analyze network traffic and logs to detect anomalies and develop threat hunting methodologies Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field 1+ years of relevant experience 8570 compliant certifications (e.g., CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, GCIA) Preferred Qualifications: Network Operations Center or IT Operations experience Knowledge of DHS policies, cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) Understanding of ITIL4 principles Master’s Degree Proficiency with threat hunting tools (Splunk, ELK, CrowdStrike, Carbon Black) Clearance Requirements: Current/active Secret clearance, ability to obtain TS/SCI Ability to obtain and maintain DHS EOD suitability Physical Requirements: Remain stationary 50% Operate computers and office machinery Occasional movement inside the office Seniority level Entry level Employment type Full-time Job function Information Technology Industries IT Services and IT Consulting #J-18808-Ljbffr ManTech
