This role is critical in verifying that security implementations meet organizational standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and effectively mitigate identified risks. You will collaborate with cybersecurity engineers to design and execute comprehensive test plans that validate the effectiveness of security measures across the enterprise technology stack. Detailed Description: This role is an entry level position requiring a methodical and detail-oriented individual who can develop and maintain systematic testing processes for security solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills to identify potential vulnerabilities, document findings clearly, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. This role serves as a crucial checkpoint in ensuring that security controls function as intended before deployment to production environments. Primary Responsibilities: Design and execute comprehensive test plans to validate the functionality, performance, and security of cybersecurity tools and solutions Develop and maintain automated testing scripts to perform repeated validation of security controls Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on security implementations before deployment Verify that security configurations align with established policies, frameworks, and best practices Document test results, defects, and security gaps with clear remediation recommendations Collaborate with Cybersecurity Engineers to establish acceptance criteria for security implementations Validate fixes and enhancements to security systems before production release Participate in security incident response drills to validate effectiveness of detection and response procedures Create and maintain QA documentation, including test cases, validation procedures, and verification checklists Support compliance requirements by documenting evidence of security control testing and validation Provide regular reports on security testing results and trending metrics to leadership Job Requirements 1+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Security Testing, or related role with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent transferable experience through coursework, internships, or work experience) Skills: Knowledge of QA methodologies and testing frameworks applicable to security systems Familiarity with one or more scripting languages for test automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) Understanding of common security vulnerabilities and attack vectors Experience with security testing tools (e.g., Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Metasploit) Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and common security technologies Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and systematic problem-solving approach Excellent documentation skills with ability to clearly communicate technical findings Ability to collaborate effectively with development and engineering teams Strong time management skills with capability to handle multiple test cycles simultaneously Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving security requirements Preferred Requirements: Experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight) Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS) Familiarity with compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOX) Experience with CI/CD pipelines and security testing integration Understanding of containerization and cloud security testing Security certifications such as Security+, GIAC, CEH, or similar Experience with threat modeling and risk assessment methodologies Knowledge of API security testing and web application security concepts Experience working in financial services or other regulated industries This opportunity is open to individual applicants seeking W-2 employment only.
